After spending years shooting high-end weddings, James noticed something that bothered him: film-inspired, artfully crafted photography was out of reach for most couples simply because of the price tag.
So he built Whisper and Veil to change that — bringing that same elevated aesthetic to couples who deserve beautiful photos, without the luxury price point.
James personally oversees every wedding, working with a handpicked team of photographers, videographers, and editors he trusts completely. We pay our team well — on purpose.
Most Los Angeles wedding companies underpay their photographers and videographers. We don’t. Higher pay means our team is genuinely invested in every wedding they shoot, and it means they can afford to maintain and upgrade their gear. You shouldn’t have to wonder if your photographer showed up with equipment that’s seen better days.

Editing styles and photography trends come and go. We deliberately avoid anything that will date your photos — no heavy filters, no over-processed edits. Just clean, classic, film-inspired imagery that holds up.

Photographers showing up late is more common in this industry than couples realize. We build in multiple reminders and check-ins so your team is always where they need to be, when they need to be there — no stressful surprises on your wedding morning.
What if we’re not photogenic?
Honestly, most couples say this — and most of them are wrong about themselves. A big part of our job is direction: we’ll guide you through poses and moments that feel natural so you’re never standing awkwardly wondering what to do with your hands. The couples who worry most about this are often the ones who end up loving their photos the most.
What if something happens to our photographer on the day of the wedding?
It’s a rare situation, but we have a plan for it. James personally oversees every wedding and maintains relationships with a network of trusted photographers and videographers — so if something unexpected happens, we can get someone qualified to your wedding. You’ll never be left without coverage on one of the most important days of your life.
How do we officially book you?
Once we’ve had a chance to connect and you’re ready to move forward, we’ll send over a contract and request a retainer (typically 25–30% of your package) to secure your date. Your date isn’t held until both are received.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! We love destination weddings. Travel fees apply for events outside a 100-mile radius and will be outlined clearly in your quote — no surprises.
What’s included in your packages?
Our packages vary, but typically include coverage hours, a set number of edited photos or a highlight film, and an online gallery or digital delivery. Full package details are on our Pricing page, and we’re happy to customize.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! We can structure payments to fit your budget. Most couples pay in installments leading up to the wedding day.
Do you shoot video, photo, or both?
We offer photography, videography, and combined packages. Many couples find that having both covered by one team makes the day feel much more seamless.
How many photographers/videographers will be there?
Depending on your package, you’ll have either one lead or a lead plus a second shooter. We’ll confirm your team in your contract.
What if the weather is bad?
We shoot in all conditions! We come prepared and will work with you and your venue to adapt. Rain can actually make for some stunning photos. ☁️
Will you coordinate with our other vendors?
Yes — we’re happy to connect with your planner, DJ, officiant, and venue ahead of time to make sure everyone’s on the same page for the day’s timeline.
When will we receive our photos/video?
Edited photos are typically delivered within 6–8 weeks. Wedding films may take 10–12 weeks depending on the package. We’ll always give you a firm timeline before your wedding.
How will we receive our files?
You’ll receive a private online gallery link for photos, and a download link or streaming link for your film. All files are yours to keep and share.
Can we print our photos?
Yes! You’ll receive full printing rights with your gallery. We also offer professional print packages if you’d like us to handle that for you.
How many photos will we receive?
It varies by package and the length of your day, but most full-day clients receive between 400–800 edited images.
